Last Saturday evening I had the privilege of watching the new movie End of the Spear with a group from church. I also watched the documentary Beyond the Gates of Splendor once on Friday night and then on again Saturday night. I’m so amazed at how God has worked through the deaths of the 5 missionaries in Equador over the past 50 years! And, after discovering the book End of the Spear by Steve Saint and already reading several chapers, I am truly in awe of our great God and His plan in each life.
I highly recommend that you take your friends/family and go watch the film End of the Spear, and also that you read the book with the same title and view the documentary Beyond the Gates of Splendor. The hour of God’s righteous judgment draws closer with each passing moment, and my heart longs to share the great news of Jesus Christ with “every nation tribe and tounge and people”. I’m reminded of John’s vision in Revelation 14:6-7 and the urgency with which we should be ready to share the gospel.
And I saw another angel flying in midheaven, having an eternal gospel to preach to those who live on the earth, and to every nation and tribe and tongue and people; and he said with a loud voice, “Fear God, and give Him glory, because the hour of His judgment has come; worship Him who made the heaven and the earth and sea and springs of waters.”
I pray that our hearts would continue to be filled with a greater love and passion for the good news of our awesome God’s love for and pursuit of us! And through that excitement, may He increase our desire to share in His pursuit of those who do not know Him personally.
